The battery is memory-free, so charge it to the maximum without worry after each use. If you discharge it to the minimum, recharge it as soon as possible. Storing a completely discharged light shortens battery life. If you are not using the light, the manufacturer recommends charging the battery in the light at least 1x every 3 months. The electronics fully control charging and discharging, including the battery status indication, and protect it from overcharging or complete discharge.
