The Maxxis Ardent Race tyre has much in common with the Ikon – a small, undulating centre tread – but thanks to more pronounced side knobs it offers better cornering performance.

The Ardent Race, the younger sibling of the Ardent, is ideal for technical XC races and long endurance marathons. With its medium-height tread it fills the gap in the range between the XC Ikon tyre and the trail-oriented Ardent. The centre pattern is bevelled to reduce rolling resistance, and the side knobs are angled and staggered to ensure good grip and stability through corners.
