Use:

Clean and degrease the inside of the rim. -> Start sticking the tape approx. 10cm before the valve hole and continue around the whole circumference of the rim, so that you finish approx. 10cm after the valve hole. While sticking, try to push out all the air and shape the tape precisely into the rim profile.
