SEE AND BE SEEN - the basic rule of road safety

Half of pedestrian fatalities occur in reduced visibility, and cyclists face the same risk.

Reflective material is visible at night from 3x greater distance than white clothing and more than 10x greater distance than blue clothing.

These distances fundamentally determine whether or not a driver will avoid us. At a speed of 90km/h, a driver needs at least 38 metres (travelling for 1.5 seconds) just to realise the danger and start reacting. And will stop within a further 40 metres. If another car is coming from the opposite direction, our visibility will be even worse.

Only reflective materials guarantee a pedestrian or cyclist that the driver will have a chance to react in time.
