Description

Varia Radar RTL515, rear light with radar.

The Varia RTL515 cycling radar gives the owner visual and audible warnings of vehicles approaching from behind up to a distance of 140 metres. The radar can be paired with most cycle computers and sports watches, on whose display a bar with moving dots representing the vehicles approaching behind you will be visible at the side. A novelty is the ability to connect the radar to a mobile phone using Bluetooth technology and the new Varia app. The mobile phone will then warn of an approaching car acoustically or by vibration. The battery life of the Varia radar is up to 15 hours per charge in daytime flashing mode or approx. 6 hours in continuous light mode.

SAFE DISTANCE - Based on the colour highlighting, you can get an idea of the speed of an approaching vehicle and the possible risk: green means the space behind you is clear and you have enough time to manoeuvre, orange indicates an approaching vehicle, red means a vehicle approaching at high speed.

WARNING FOR DRIVERS - With its very bright red light it warns drivers of vehicles in good time of an obstacle (the cyclist) ahead of them – in daylight it is visible from a distance of up to 1.6 km and the beam angle is up to 220°. The closer a car gets to the cyclist, the more intense the brightness and flashing frequency will be.

GROUP RIDING - The Varia RTL515 also newly contains a "Peloton" mode, which reduces the flashing intensity so that other cyclists riding in the group are not dazzled.
