The Mavic Crossmax 29 rear built wheel is a reliable model for modern cross-country and fast off-road riding. The basis is a rim made of a special light Maxtal aluminium alloy with a welded joint and an internal width of 25 mm. This width provides secure support for current XC tyres while keeping a low rotating weight. The Tubeless Ready design combined with UST technology allows an easy switch to a tubeless system, bringing higher comfort, better traction and a reduced risk of punctures.

At the heart of the wheel is an Infinity hub with an aluminium axle of the Boost 12×148 mm standard, fitted with sealed industrial QRM Auto bearings with automatic play adjustment, which guarantee smooth running without the need for constant adjustment. Power transfer is handled by the durable ratchet freehub mechanism Instant Drive 360 with fast engagement. The wheel is laced with 24 flat double-butted steel spokes with a straight head (straight pull), which are crossed twice and seated in steel nipples with the ABS system preventing unintentional loosening.
