Wolf Tooth chainring 110x42 BCD Oval for Sram Flattop
Chainring for a bike.
Product description
More energy? Better traction? Definitely! Less shifting? Yes! An uneven pedal stroke? Not with Wolf Tooth PowerTrac Elliptical™ (PTE) chainrings. Our proprietary design means a slightly less oval ring (10 %) with less aggressive timing (112°) than competing versions. Any change in the pedal stroke is imperceptible to most riders, yet they still deliver the power and traction benefits inherent to oval chainrings.
It is like having two chainrings in one! With PowerTrac elliptical chainrings the larger-diameter section engages the chain at the optimal point of the downstroke, the "Power Zone" – between 1-5 and 7-11 on the clock face – thereby using the bodys natural biomechanical strength: for example, in this section a PTE 34T chainring is equivalent to a round 36T chainring. Similarly, in the "Recovery Zone" (11-1 and 5-7) the smaller section of the PTE chainring engages, maximising efficiency in the weakest part of the pedal stroke, and here the PTE 34T chainring is equivalent to a 32T round chainring.
The above also provides smoother and more efficient pedalling, which means better traction. A more stable torque at the rear wheel means less spinning in the "Power Zone", while pedalling is easier during the "Recovery Zone", so you keep your momentum.
Compatible for use with 110 BCD cranks with 5 arms.
On cranks that have 4 visible bolts and 1 hidden bolt behind the crank, as on SRAM, the chainring rotates by 180 degrees compared with normal.
A perfect choice for cyclocross, gravel or a touring bike.
The tooth profiling is intended for 9, 10, 11 speed and 12 speed SRAM Eagle chains as well as SRAM FlatTop chains of 12-speed groupsets.
