Product description
A waterproof, easy-to-operate and rechargeable (via USB-C) locator and alarm for bikes? That is the KNOG Scout, which lets you track where your bike is even when it is not being ridden. A complete change in the field of bike security!
The future of bike security is here!
The KNOG Scout is a lightweight, low-profile bike locator and alarm designed to integrate seamlessly into Apples FindMy network of products, and lets you track where the bike is even when it is not in motion. It attaches discreetly and securely under any bottle cage using the supplied security screws. The device is recharged via USB-C and lasts approximately 6 months in normal use. Cyclists can activate/deactivate the motion-sensitive alarm, locate the device and check the battery life via the Knog app.
JAK FUNGUJE KNOG SCOUT
The Scout locator and alarm works via a Bluetooth connection with an Apple smartphone. Thanks to the connected network of iPhones via Bluetooth, a bike with an attached Scout can be found whenever it is near an Apple iPhone or iPad. Operation incurs no further monthly fees. After purchase, you only need to charge the device and it is ready to use. A version for the Android platform is planned for next season.
INSTALLATION AND SECURITY
With the Scout you can choose between visible and discreet security. To advertise that the bike is equipped with a Scout, simply use the supplied neon yellow silicone cover. For more discreet security, attach the Scout to the bike using the bottle cage mounts with tamper-resistant security screws, without the cover.
MOUNTING WITH A BOTTLE CAGE
The extremely low profile and compact design of the Scout allow it to be elegantly bolted on and hidden under the bottle cage. This is a great way to keep the Scout hidden for even greater discretion.
STARTING AND CHARGING
Switching the Scout alarm on or off is simple and can be done in two ways: using the button on the side of the device when a connected iPhone is in close proximity (<1,5 m), or using the Knog app when the device is within Bluetooth range. When the Scout battery needs charging, there is no need to remove the device from the bike – it can simply be recharged with a USB-C cable via the Scout charging port located under the waterproof silicone cap. Charging time is approx. 3 hours.
LEDS AND WATERPROOFING
The Scout has dual-function LEDs that show at a glance whether the Scout is active. The same LEDs also display the battery charge status. The Scout has an IP66 waterproof rating, which means it can be left out in the rain, used in the rain and withstands being washed with a stream of water without affecting its function.
Up to 10 Scouts or similar devices can be connected in the app.
