A GPS computer for mountain lovers

An extra-large display, easy operation and more than 34 functions: the R-series GPS computer reliably shows all the relevant riding data that performance and racing riders require. Besides displaying speed, distance and ride or training time, this smart computer also provides navigation functions and can be paired with compatible e-bikes. The real highlight is the integrated barometric altitude measurement. Thanks to its 2.4-inch diagonal and exceptionally large digits, the high-contrast display is very easy to read even while riding. The highlighted blue square in the upper right part of the display allows a new way of displaying training data. In combination with the SIGMA RIDE smartphone app, up to six individual training displays can be set up in just a few clicks. The VDO R5 GPS is mounted on the handlebars with a forward-offset mount (included), so the computer sits centrally above the stem. The mount fits handlebars with a diameter of 31.8 to 35 mm. If you want to find out even more data or care about maximum accuracy of your values, you can use ANT+ and BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) connectivity to connect external sensors for measuring speed, heart rate or pedalling cadence to the computer.

Altitude measurement

The built-in air pressure sensor provides reliable altitude information using barometric measurement, determines climbing and descending and so allows precise recording of the route. The VDO R5 also offers a graphical representation of the elevation profile of your route. The starting altitude at the beginning of the ride is either calibrated automatically using GPS or can be set manually.

Easy navigation

The VDO R5 GPS computer can easily be paired with the SIGMA RIDE smartphone app. With this app you can import routes from other sources or head to a specific destination using the "Search & Go" function and its detailed turn-by-turn instructions. These appear on the computer display as arrows while the phone stays safely tucked away in a pocket or backpack.

Ready for e-bikes

The R5 GPS can also work with many e-bike models. The computer connects to a compatible e-bike system and shows the current motor assistance level, battery status and other important data on the display.

Smart notifications

Thanks to this function you can stay connected to the world around you even while riding. Information about incoming calls and text messages from your smartphone is shown on the computer display.

Convenient data analysis with the SIGMA RIDE app

The SIGMA RIDE app is a free tool for transferring training data from the GPS computer to a smartphone via the BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) interface. The app clearly presents basic data and statistics using colour segments that are instantly readable and easy to analyse. You can instantly share data from your ride in training apps such as Strava, TrainingPeaks or komoot.
