The FSA SMR – Smart Cable Routing – system is built on a universal stem and headset combination that allows various integrated and semi-integrated cable routing. The SMR system draws on FSAs core expertise in headset and cockpit components and provides a "plug-in" solution for bike brands that want to route cables, wires and hoses internally from the cockpit into the frame. The SMR system is compatible with electronic and mechanical shifting and with hydraulic and mechanical braking, and is truly the most universal and adaptable cable routing solution on the market. The SMR stem can be adapted both for complete internal cable routing from the handlebars through the stem and headset into the frame, and for semi-integrated routing of cables, wires and hoses beneath the stem, held by the SMR cover. The cover, with adjustable length, allows cable routing without having to remove the stem, while providing an elegant and aerodynamic shield that is the basis for various handlebar variants.
