Park Tool BBT-RS Bottom Bracket Tool Retaining System
The bottom bracket is among the components with the highest torques on a bike. Yet some bottom bracket cups have a tool interface that allows only a few millimetres of engagement, which can cause problems during removal or installation. The solution is the Park Tool Bottom Bracket Tool Retaining System (BBT-RS). This system, used together with almost any Park Tool bottom bracket tool, uses a spring tensioning mechanism that applies consistent and adjustable pressure to the tool, ensures full engagement with the tool interface and prevents slipping.
The BBT-RS can be configured for use with most threaded and thread-together bottom bracket standards. The system includes an M8 threaded rod and a double-ended adapter nut with M12 and M15 threads, which allows it to be screwed directly into a compatible cartridge bottom bracket. The M15 adapter can also be used to install any current Park Tool aluminium bottom bracket tool, all of which have integrated threads for use with the BBT-RS.
