The PP-1.2 tool is inserted between the pads inside the brake calliper and allows them to be spread apart while also pushing back the hydraulic pistons.

Park Tool PP-1.2 – Pad spreading tool

The PP-1.2 tool is inserted between the pads inside the brake calliper and allows them to be spread apart while also pushing back the hydraulic pistons. It is used for:

• replacing pads
• centring them
• or during other service tasks

It spreads the space between the pads, which makes inserting the rotor easier when refitting the wheel or calliper.

An ergonomic handle with a dual-layer rubberised finish ensures a secure grip.

Compatible with most hydraulic callipers – including Shimano® XTR®.

• Width of the tapered end: 25 mm
• Overall length of the insertable part: 26 mm
• Wedge thickness: 3.2 mm

Note:

Wedge tools such as the PP-1.2 are not intended for brake systems with ceramic pistons, e.g. Shimano road disc brakes.
