DT Swiss Upgrade Kit Ratchet DEG DF Hybrid 60T W Tool 60 teeth

DT Swiss Upgrade Kit Ratchet DEG DF Hybrid 60T W Tool 60 teeth

This upgrade kit improves the freewheel mechanism of a DT Swiss hub – specifically it switches to the DEG-DF system (Hybrid 60 teeth) with an adjustable engagement angle. It is designed for bikes (MTB / e-MTB) where you want better ride comfort and rear suspension response.

Features and benefits

• Allows setting the freewheel engagement angle (0° or 10°) – you can influence pedal response and rear-end behaviour to suit your riding style.

• Reduces "pedal kickback" – the chains backward effect on the rear suspension – which gives smoother suspension action and better comfort, especially on full-suspension bikes.

• The system is often significantly lighter and requires less maintenance than older 3-pawl designs – less noise, smoother running and longer service life.

• Compatible with DT Swiss hubs with the original DEG 60 tooth system – an upgrade is possible without replacing the whole hub.

• Supplied with the necessary drive ring, pawls, springs and grease – a complete upgrade kit.

Use and recommendations

I recommend this kit for MTB or e-MTB riders who want to optimise how their bike behaves to suit their riding style – trail, enduro, all-mountain or purely recreational riding. Thanks to reduced kickback and smoother rear-end action, it is ideal for full-suspension bikes that often tackle technical terrain or harder descents.

Summary

The DT Swiss Upgrade Kit Ratchet DEG 60T DF Hybrid offers the option of fine-tuning the freewheel mechanism and the behaviour of the rear end. If you want more comfort, smoother running and less chain influence on the suspension, it is a sensible upgrade for a compatible bike.
