The Mavic COMETE 45F/55R DISC full-carbon road built wheel set offers an aerodynamic profile, low weight and high stiffness for road use according to the ASTM 1 category. The different rim depths – 45 mm at the front and 55 mm at the rear – bring stability in gusts of crosswind and efficient aerodynamics for fast riding. The internal rim width of 25 mm is adapted to wider road tyres from 30 mm wide and, thanks to the UST Tubeless Ready design, allows direct fitting of a tubeless system for lower rolling resistance and higher comfort.

At the centre of both wheels are hubs with aluminium thru axles of the 12×100 mm standard at the front and 12×142 mm at the rear, fitted with smooth-spinning ceramic bearings. The rear hub has the fast ratchet engagement Instant Drive 360 with 40 teeth and a SRAM XDR freehub body. Brake discs are reliably mounted via the Center Lock system.

The lacing consists of 21 straight aerodynamic spokes at the front and rear with black aluminium nipples. The shape of the spokes was chosen on the basis of wind tunnel testing to minimise rotational air drag. The lacing combines double crossing on the heavily loaded side and a radial arrangement on the opposite side, which balances spoke tension and ensures high durability and lateral stability of the whole.
