The Mavic COMETE 45F/55R DISC carbon road built wheels are a top aerodynamic set designed exclusively for road use (ASTM category 1). The rims made of 100% carbon fibres combine a front profile with a depth of 45 mm for easy handling in wind and a rear profile with a depth of 55 mm for maximum aerodynamic efficiency. The internal rim width of 25 mm is optimised for modern wider tyres from 30 mm wide and, thanks to the UST Tubeless Ready system, allows easy tubeless use with lower rolling resistance and higher comfort.

The hubs are fitted with premium ceramic bearings with minimal friction and an aluminium thru axle. Lightning-fast engagement is provided by the reliable Instant Drive 360 ratchet system with 40 teeth. Disc brakes are mounted using the Center Lock standard.

The lacing consists of 21 straight aero spokes tuned in a wind tunnel on both the front and rear wheel. On the more heavily loaded side (the disc side of the front wheel, the drive side of the rear wheel) the spokes are crossed twice, while on the opposite side they are laced radially. This arrangement ensures optimal tension balance, high stiffness and a long service life of the whole lacing.
