The Mavic COMETE 85 DISC full-carbon road built wheel set is designed for time trials, triathlon and flat fast sections, where maximum aerodynamic efficiency plays a key role. The rims with a depth of 85 mm and an internal width of 23 mm offer a stable profile optimised for modern wider road tyres from 28 mm wide and up. The UST Tubeless Ready construction allows easy use of tubeless systems, which brings lower rolling resistance and higher puncture resistance.

The wheels are laced with 21 straight aero spokes at the front and rear, whose shape was developed in a wind tunnel to minimise rotational air drag. The lacing combines double crossing on the most heavily loaded sides (the disc side on the front wheel, the drive side on the rear wheel) with radial lacing on the opposite sides, which guarantees optimal tension balance and a long service life of the lacing.

At the heart of the set are hubs with smooth-spinning ceramic bearings and durable aluminium axles. The rear hub features the reliable Instant Drive 360 ratchet freewheel system with 40 teeth for fast engagement and is fitted with a SRAM XDR standard freehub body. Brake discs are mounted via the Center Lock system.
