Schwalbe Romy Trail tyre 29x2.40 MID TLR folding (black)
The Schwalbe Romy is a brand-new and key addition to the Schwalbe MTB portfolio for 2026. It is designed as the ultimate all-rounder, intended to simplify tyre choice for most riders – from trail riding to demanding enduro.
The Romy sits exactly between the light XC tyres and aggressive downhill models (such as the Magic Mary). Schwalbe presents it as a tyre with which you "cant go wrong".
- Use: Trail, All-mountain and lighter Enduro.
- Bikes: Great for classic bikes and light E-MTBs (Light-Assist).
- Position: Works great on both the front and rear wheel. It is often combined with a more aggressive front for maximum grip in extreme conditions, but on its own it offers a balanced mix of traction and
Tread pattern and compounds
- Tread pattern: It has aggressive genes but is optimised for low rolling resistance. The centre blocks ensure smooth rolling, while the prominent side knobs hold in corners.
- Addix compounds: It most often appears in the Soft compound (orange) for grip or MID (blue) for longer life and speed.
