Why you will love it
An absolute CRUSSIS novelty for 2021, an aluminium kick scooter weighing 7.635 kg and priced under twelve thousand crowns. That is the CRUSSIS ONE COBRA – the lightest kick scooter with 26×20“ wheels on the market. A kick scooter made for (not only) trips of all kinds.
Components
Frame
The new aluminium frame of the Cobra kick scooter, with its specific and innovative construction, was developed with the greatest emphasis on the scooters functionality.
The tapered head tube shape together with the optimally shaped triangular neck profile increases the strength of the frame.
Deck ground clearance adjustment
Thanks to two dropouts on the rear fork, you can choose between a higher and lower footboard position and so choose the optimal ground clearance of the scooter according to the terrain you are about to ride. For riding on a smooth surface, it is ideal to choose the lower deck clearance (45 mm) – for off-road riding, the higher deck (65 mm clearance). Lowering the clearance makes riding the scooter physically less demanding, because the standing leg is less bent during the push-off and you "squat" less while riding. And that is what matters most!
Tyres
Schwalbe Marathon Racer tyres – great trekking tyres made from the sporty SpeedGrip natural rubber compound, which allows the tyre to be inflated up to a pressure of 6 bar. The material and high pressure ensure extremely low rolling resistance and excellent grip. The tyres are suitable for the road and for light terrain, field or forest tracks. The tyre is also protected against punctures by a double layer of RaceGuard nylon fabric. A reflective stripe that lights up when hit by a headlight around the entire circumference of the tyre helps increase the scooter riders passive safety in lower visibility.
Footboard
The uniquely designed footboard forms a single unit with the rear fork, all made from one piece of bent profile. It is not just a distinctive design element but above all a structural solution that eliminates the fatigue fractures typical of kick scooters at the places where the rear fork is usually welded to the footboard.
By moving the footboard as close as possible to the rear wheel, we shortened the rear fork and so increased the strength of the frame while keeping a slim look. The result is greater compliance of the frame, which contributes to better filtering of smaller bumps and eliminates the unpleasant bouncing of the rear wheel in corners. This solution also allowed us to keep a continuous footboard width of 102 mm along its whole length, including the rear fork, which together with the 65 mm narrow rear hub minimises the kicking of the ankles that scooter riders hate when pushing off.
The raised tip of the footboard ensures optimal passability of the scooter through terrain, prevents the footboard from "digging" into an obstacle (a terrain wave, a kerb, etc.) and a possible fall.
