All this and more is represented by B-Road or "gravel" wheels, and the Rapid Red 5 DB wheel was designed and developed by Fulcrum precisely for this kind of riding.

In developing the Rapid Red 5 DB wheel, Fulcrums research and development department combined all the experience and technical knowledge gained from building wheels for racing bikes and used it to design a model for use on non-asphalt surfaces.

Unpaved roads, trails and field tracks require a wider internal channel – in this case 23 mm – with a low, exceptionally durable rim of 24 mm diameter, which absorbs shocks and provides excellent riding comfort regardless of the stress to which it is subjected.

The wheel profile allows tubeless tyres of 30 to 46 mm to be fitted, with a wide range of settings that can be adjusted to the type of surface. A sturdy aluminium hub, ideal for tackling uneven terrain and bearing the somewhat higher weight of a bike ready for the road, rests on 24 straight-pull spokes.
