1 New Schwalbe Aerothan 2.0 tube

The main change is the switch from an all-plastic valve to an aluminium stem with an external thread. This solves the biggest weakness of previous models:

• Higher stability: The aluminium valve does not bend when the pump is fitted and seals better in the rim.
• Compatibility: Thanks to the external thread and aluminium, the tube is fully compatible with digital sensors (e.g. Schwalbe Airmax or the Bosch Speed Sensor) and above all with the Clik Valve system

• Main strengths of the Aerothan

Extreme lightness: It weighs roughly 40 % to 65 % less than standard butyl tubes. That means a significant reduction in rotating mass, which you will feel at every acceleration. Puncture resistance: Even though the tube wall is thin, TPU is an incredibly tough material. It is very hard to puncture or pinch (so-called snakebite). Low rolling resistance: In its properties it approaches tubeless systems. The ride is smoother and faster. Shape memory: Unlike other TPU tubes (such as the Tubolito), the Aerothan is somewhat more stable and holds its shape better, which makes installation easier. Heat resistance: It is approved even for use with rim brakes, which is often a problem with other lightweight tubes because of overheating.

This valve replaces the classic "release" pin of a Presta valve with an intuitive "snap-on" system.

No screwing: You just press the pump head onto the valve (you will hear a "click") and simply pull it off after inflating. No levers, no unscrewing of the valve head. High airflow: It has up to 50 % greater flow than classic valves, which you will appreciate when inflating quickly. Backward compatibility: If you do not have a pump with a Click adapter with you, the SCV valve can in an emergency be inflated with an ordinary Presta pump. No pressure leakage: When removing the pump there is no hissing and no air escapes from the tube.
