MAXIMISING FUN

Our mid-priced Rifty E model, the Marin Rift Zone E1, strikes a great balance between performance and value. The suspension is handled by RockShox, a reliable 11-speed drivetrain is supplied by Shimano Deore and the Shimano STEPS EP6 drive unit propels you uphill, on the flat and downhill. It comes with a 630 Wh battery as standard for maximum range, and the package also includes CushCore tyre inserts and Marin tubeless sealant.

Technology

SERIES 4 ALUMINUM FRAME

Rift Zone E models are built upon our Series 4 aluminum frames, with detailed forgings, highly manipulated tubes, and full internal cable routing, giving the rider the highest-end alloy frame that Marin offers, compatible with modern coil or air shocks.

MULTITRAC SUSPENSION

The Alpine Trail E features the same great, proven MultiTrac suspension technology, but optimized for the Shimano STEPS system, with 140mm of suspension for the best on-trail experience.

SHIMANO STEPS

Shimano’s STEPS system is both powerful and lightweight, with the mid-drive motor down low to help ensure that the Rift Zone E performs like the analog version, but with a 250W boost. Three levels of power give riders options to balance electric power, speed and range. Electric assist up to 20mph in the US, 25km/h in Europe.

Suspension Setup

REAR SHOCK SETUP

Recommended Sag = 30%/19.5mm

Step 1: Set correct pressure in rear shock.

Step 2: Sit on the bike and cycle the suspension (*with correct riding gear).

Step 3: Reset O-ring and sit on the bike, DO NOT BOUNCE, carefully step off.

Step 4: Measure sag (from o-ring to seal of shock). If it does not match the bikes recommended sag in millimetres, repeat the process.

Step 5: Adjust the rebound setting to ensure proper control.

FORK SETUP

Marin recommends that front and rear suspension on all bikes feel balanced

Step 1: After rear sag is set, follow the recommended pressure from the fork manufacturer.

Step 2: Bounce evenly up and down on the bike, cycling the suspension up and down to make sure both front and rear suspension feel balanced. If the front does not match the rear, add or release pressure.

Step 3: Once the bike feels balanced, adjust the rebound damping to ensure proper control.
